June 2013 – November 2014

 

I assisted the Design Engineering-Control Plant department with engineering assignments. I worked in the conversion and modification of standards drawings. Designed and drafted enclosures for NEMA 1-12 applications, and their subpanels from existing standards drawings. Create mechanical drawings and assemblies for fabrication, and assembly departments using AutoCAD Mechanical 2013. I have gained some basic skills in Pro-e/ Creo Parametric 2.0. Worked in the creation of new manufacturing parts for many jobs the company has received. Also, I processed ECO’s according to manufacturing plants specifications, and necessary changes/revisions to parts. I also added revisions in Baan when I revised drawings, and helped with documentation tasks and other assignments as needed.

 

Engineering Technician, Centerpoint Energy, Houston, TX, (Temporary Employee) 10/2012-3/2013

 

I supported the structural engineer with structural and mechanical projects. Recreating and revising new and existing electrical transmission towers in AutoCAD 2013. I updated their PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower models, which included the proper information and tables for towers that needed to be upgraded from 69KV to 138KV. I also worked on updating the information on 345KV towers.

 

Technical Illustrator, Baker Hughes, Houston, TX, 1/2012 – 9/2012

 

I supported the Western Hemisphere Land and Gulf of Mexico Marketing and Sales departments creating and editing illustration drawings for proposals. I also created presentation drawings for clients review. I used Excel spreadsheets to create schematics of wellbore hookups. I also created drawings of Completion, Sand Control, and Liner Hanger tool drawings for clients review utilizing AutoCAD/Wellbore Design, Excel, and Baker Hughes proprietary software.

 

GIS/CAD Technician, Contract work, Houston, TX, 7/2010 – 11/2011

 

Perform contract work for a client that deals with land, utilities, and fiber optic networks. Editing and imputing information in the GIS/Cad software and adding specific objects in the map database. Utilize various techniques and tools like Google Earth, Google Maps, and CAD Drawings as reference for detailed projects.

 

Cad Drafter/Internship, Standard Telecom Services, Houston, TX, 4/2010 – 5/2010

 

Draft civil plan and profile drawings of roadways for telecommunication clients utilizing AutoCAD 2007 under guidance from senior personnel. Recreating drawings and adding the proposed fiber optic cable and other utility lines. Receive permits at City of Houston permitting department from Engineers. Went out into the field to take field notes and sketches of manholes and proposed construction.
